I drink enough water, i take my supplements, i exercise every day....and it is all my fault that i dont see the changes that everyone sees in themselves....food is the reason...the ONLY reason that i am not losing.
I am going to focus on my eating. I am going to write every morsel of food that enters my mouth! I have to hold myself accountable for my actions. Only one person is going to be getting on that stage in 3 1/2 months in this little bathing suit with stones on it!! ME!!!! and I cant make a fool out of myself in front of a lot of people, including my family and friends.....because the only person it is going to hurt is myself....
So as a pep talk to myself....
GET WITH THE PROGRAM GIRL!!!! THIS IS IT...YOU HAVE A SHOW TO DO AND A TRACKER CHALLENGE TO WIN!!!! NO MORE CHEATING!!!!!! PUSH HARDER EVERYDAY!!! EXTRA CARDIO IS A MUST!!!! YOU WILL HAVE YOUR TREADMILL IN YOUR BASEMENT IN ONE MORE DAY...THERE ARE NO MORE EXCUSES!!!!!! IF YOU WANT TO LOOK LIKE THIS.....

There have been so many times when I couldve written this post myself!!! My last call with tony I talked about how the biggest surprise to me in working with him and doing this is how muhc mental WORK it is. I can get to the gym and i can lift weights and I can do cardio...training my body is easy...my mind, now THATS a job! I can tell you that little by little you can change your thoughts. It takes a lot of practice, a lot of focus, but youc an get there, and then everything else seems to come easier. Stick with it!
I hate that food is the most important aspect of fitness, yet the hardest part to deal with. Ugh.
You know what you need to do Angela, and you basically said it all.
You just need to find the missing bits of the puzzle. It's all in your head, the info and ability just need rearranging into some kind of working logic, that simplifies things.
GOOD LUCK
:-) :-).
Matt
I am working on that negative attitude part too. Hang in there and I will be around to smack you if needed.
Angela,
I have so been in your mindset and I want to tell you that first of all, YOU CAN AND YOU WILL REACH YOUR GOAL. YOU CAN DO ANYTHING THAT YOU SET YOUR MIND TO.
What will really help you SERIOUSLY is to do two things that have helped my excessively paranoid negative doubting self become the total opposite and become a woman that is reaching and exceeding her goals. 1) POSITIVE SELF TALK. I just wrote this on Hayley's Blog. It may sound hokey to you, but its not. Read your post again and think - would you say all those things directed toward ME or a friend or family member? You would never be that harsh with someone, yet you are saying it to yourself!! That is bound to make you feel bad and when you feel bad, its hard to get UP and stay up!! Start saying things to yourself and say I CAN instead of "Why can't I..." Say I WILL instead of "I've never been able to"....again, this might sound way Dr. Phil or Oprah for you, but it makes a difference!!! In my business, they recommend this book, "What To Say When You Talk To Yourself" by Dr. Shad Helmstetter ~! An oldie but goodie; get from the library, read it and apply it. #2) Visualize. Think about what you want to achieve, how you will look and think about it all the time....
Lastly, ignore negative people, ignore jealous people that discourage you. You are a great person with drive and determination and you WILL EXCEED YOUR OWN EXPECTATION!! I KNOW YOU WILL!!
We could all write this post. i don't eat clean either. I need to cause it's too close. Every day I say to myself, is this worth it? then I still eat a cookie...or 6. I cant stop. I have to though cause I have 4 weeks left. I should tell myself it's not an option. I don't know what the answer is...I'm right there with you.
It’s OK to not be positive ALL the time. I don’t think anybody is. BUT the KEY is to realize that your negative feelings are TEMPORARY and therefore accept them but don’t let them derail you from your goal. It’s cliché but “This too will pass!” I can’t find it but I think Muslfetish wrote a blog a while back about not letting temporary negative days ruin your long term dreams. It was good. I wish I could find it! But you get the idea. Now I’m not saying ACT on those feelings, I’m saying only acknowledge them.
You may have to be a little “extreme” in your eating to get where you want to go. Are you OK with that?
85 lbs is more than I can do. I can only do about 60 lb, so you beat me!
Oh and one other thing I just remembered. A good psychologist once taught me this technique for changing self talk. Get a piece a paper and draw a line down the middle. On the left side, write your negative self talk to yourself. Then on the right side, reframe that sentence into a Positive statement THAT IS TRUE. It has to be believable. Then replace the negative with the positive statement in your mind. It might even help to carry the positive statement around on a 3 x 5 and take it out when you are thinking the negative.
The comment about talking to yourself like you talk to a friend seems like good advice too.
hi Angela..our greatest battles our with our minds. It is a constant struggle everyday..I battle with my mind more than I battle with anyone. You know what you have to do and you have all the tools you can do this. Take the picture of Jamie and post it right by your treadmill or on the bathroom mirror. Think before you take a bite how are you going to feel after. You can do this!!
First of all, we can ALL relate. If this were easy then everyone would walk around looking like Barbie! And yes, unfortunately, diet is 85% of this game! UGH...
In regards to your benchpress...85 is awesome, to me!!! I'm only pressing like 70lbs. so hats off to you girl! you can't compare your numbers to other people, I'm happy with how my chest is starting to striate, and I'm lifting LESS than you...it's all relative to what makes YOUR body work!!!
you can do it!!
Such great responses here! I am going to add to what Kelly said by changing the way you talk to yourself. One thing I have done is to begin my self talk with the two most powerful words...."I AM"
This is what I say to myself...
"I AM WHOLE, PERFECT, STRONG, POWERFUL, LOVING, HARMONIOUS AND HAPPY. I AM LEAN, FIT, HEALTHY, CONFIDENT AND BEAUTIFUL. I AM CREATING MY LIFE AND I LOVE ME"
This post that you have just written, could have been written by me as to why I pulled out of my comp. As much as I wanted to do the comp, my mind just couldn't get back on track and I decided to stop the comp dieting and try to get my head on straight. Maybe I will do it someday, but not right now.
My final 2cents...speaking as someone who has battled binge eating, I don't feel like comp dieting is a positive thing for this type of issue. I tried to use the comp to get my disordered eating under control and instead it did the opposite. I need to get my eating under control, then start a comp diet.
Be Careful!
xo!
I stopped back by to clarify....
I have my own eating issues, and I am not here to imply that yours are the same...so I hope my last comment was not taken that way...
Sorry~
Hang tough!
=)
