COMPETITORS -- Are you a PLAYER?

Well its wednesday already! I had legs today and i tried to go heavy as i could...which in turn means i wont be able to walk tomorrow ;) But i really need to work on my lower body big time! Well i need to work on my upper too, but i really need to lean out my lower!

I cannot believe that next week is the Arnold! We need a role call and whoever is going to be around on friday we have to meet up!!!

This Saturday i will be 18 weeks out! See how fast the time goes? OMG!

I have made a pact with myself that starting at 12 weeks out i will be taking weekly pictures for my progress this time around....

i still have a lot of issues with my eating....just as far as really what can i do to make it edible for me and adam on a daily basis....does salt really make that much of a difference in your appearance? Does having a couple of walnuts in my oats in the morning really hinder my weight loss? These are the things that bother me....

As far as cardio goes....im doing 30-45 minutes extra right now....most days of the week. This past saturday i did 60 minutes in the morning, then did my ab workout and then later that night i did another 25 minutes....and that was only because i had the energy to do it...normally i would not want to do that much this far out.....and sunday i did another hour....well 2 30minute sessions :)

Im trying to really stay focused and positive. But getting mad at myself does get me motivated too....LOL! Grabbing the fat on my legs makes me sad but motivated to get moving....

On Monday i had shoulders....and i really want to get some upper body strength....i did dumbell shoulder presses with 20#s for 6reps which made me happy :) I usually dont ever go higher than 15# but i did it....and if i had a spotter i could have probably gone higher but.....oh, and i did haning ab crunches too :) I tried to do a pull up...couldnt even get half way up! Im such a wuss!

Lets see...what else......oh i got my wedding album yesterday..it came out really nice....adam doesn't like himself in the pics but he liked the album itself.....

Anyway...i am going to try and stay focused an positive and make this blog a little bit more positive than always bitching.....this is my choice to do this.....no one is making me do it...so i have to suck it up and enjoy the ride......

This is a post from one of my co-divas, Tara, that i saved and printed out and i read it everyday on the treadmill.....i love it!!!

COMPETITORS -- Are you a PLAYER?

Lined up on stage, it is EVIDENT, RIGHT AWAY...

...You can tell who the COMPETITION IS.

With a glance, the judges have made up their minds; you're either IN THE GAME, or YOU'RE OUT.

Until you get to stage, you really don't know where you stand. You don't know who is going to show up. You don't know if you're 'in the game'.

BUT ONCE YOU STAND on stage, it is EVIDENT to EVERYONE. You're either IN, or you're OUT.

You are COMPETING right now, TRAINING against the unknown--competing against the competitors who have THAT SAME TIME AND SAME PLACE written on THEIR calendars.

Someone is ALREADY WINNING. Is it you? Are you training against someone who, TODAY, is PUSHING HARDER THAN YOU--or are YOU the one to be FEARED?

Are you a PLAYER IN THE GAME, or are you just playing with the IDEA of being YOUR BEST?

MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE THE 'UNKNOWN'. YOU are the ONE who is training HARDER, BETTER, SMARTER than those who plan to stand next to you on competition day.

Don't LOSE your PLACE tomorrow by playing games with your program TODAY. Either you're a PLAYER, or you're playing. Which is it? Are you IN... OR OUT?

I am a player!!! That is AWSOME, I just copied and pasted it in to a work document and jazzed up the border/fonts. I am totally hanging this up in our posing/gym in our basement. I LOVE IT!!

Thanks for the compliments on my recent pics. The hard work is paying off and I could not be happier. You have 18 weeks - I can't wait to watch your transformation from the beginning this time around. :) Go get 'em girl.

Oh and to answer your question about the walnuts and salt: (not just for figure prep, but daily "regular" life) It has been my experience that as long as you account for your little extras like walnuts in your oatmeal, you'll be fine. I have had a few m&ms here and there, and I just pay the price for them or 'make up' the calorie deficit later.
Salt does totally affect the way you hold water, therefore the way you look, but it's not instant, it's usually the next day or later that day. Flush it out with water, it's just water weight, salt won't make you 'fat'. So enjoy! I eat tons of salsa and salty stuff, they're my favorite. You may not look perfect and lean all the time, but the salt/water weight only takes about 12 hours or so to get out of your system. I wouldn't eat a ton of it the night before you have to look good at the beach or for a photo shoot, but other than that, who cares??

Lastly (gosh, I wrote a book!) GO YOU ON THOSE SHOULDER PRESSES!)Anytime you take a new weight on, it feels great, doesn't it. Keep it up!

I just copied that as well! Nice motivation! Makes me wanna hit the gym (and it's my off day!!)

If you want your shoulders to be anywhere near ready, you need to be going heavier on your presses. Make sure you have someone with you on that day so you can really push them! Minimum of 20 lbs. You can do it, you can do it, you can do it!! I'm at 30 myself, so I know it can be done! Salt, enjoy it now, once 10 weeks comes, knock it out totally! Extra fat (walnuts etc), enjoy it now, get the extra good fat in there now to add some mass, then, you'll have the extra to cut down! Enjoy it!

18 weeks out! You go girl, rock it hard now!!! I can't wait to see what you're gonna look like! YOU CAN DO IT!!!

If you want to find simple answers ot tatse things, thne you could try a few little tweaks to food to get around the problem.

Cereal. Experiment with things like a bit of ground Ginger or grated Nutmeg or Cinnamon.

Could try a little Cracked Black Pepper on Meats, Lemon Juice on Fish, or a piece of Sliced Lemon on top if you're oven cooking, then with meat poultry or fish, experiment with things like a bit of Tarragon, Oregano, Marjarom, Bay Leaves etc etc.

Most of those have little to almost no calories. So a little bit of herb, spice or condiment, shouldn't be a major issue.

I'm sure you're doing great. Keep up the hard work, and best wishes.

:-) :-).
