Well its Thursday already! These weeks just fly by!
Yesterday at the gym was chest...not my favorite by any means, but I did it justice (I hope). Last night I did 65 minutes of cardio and then came up and made dinner. I was stinky and hungry and tired.. I made a recipe that I saw on one of the blogs (sorry I cant remember whose it was..let me know if it was you)...it was the chicken breast with asparagus rolled in the middle of it...it came out pretty good...I put a little fat free mozzarella in the center of it too, and then added pepper, garlic powder and oregano....I cooked it a little too long, so it dried out a bit, but it was still good. Adam liked it too which was good...so now I know I can make it again.
Today I worked out my back and did some abs.
I have been on plan 100% for the third day now....I feel much better.....well I did feel better until I took pics last night for Tony (who, by the way, has been asking for pictures for about 3-4 weeks now) so I sucked it up and took them while Adam went out for a bit....what an awakening! Now I know that I have work to do...but now I know I have a lot of work to do! So I sent them to him last night....we will see what happens...
I have been listening to a lot of podcasts lately from bodysport.com.....every week they have a different pro on their show...its really good.....and you get to learn about what these girls do to prep for a show....Heather Mae French for example.....she is super tiny....like my height....and she was saying how her body leans out so much easier on the top than on the bottom....and since the Olympia she has put on some lower body weight and has some cellulite issues...so she does legs 3xs a week.....one day hamstrings, one day quads and then the other is basically just lunges and squats and stuff with high reps and low weight to lean out her legs more.
But what I am learning is that the majority of the girls all do a lot of cardio.....Gina Aliotti does 2 45 minute sessions a day......even when she is “off season” she does at least an hour a day...which is how she stays so lean all year round. Heather Mae does over an hour a day too. Lishia Dean just posted that she is starting 3 hours a day! So it has to be done.....along with the clean eating...it is the only way it can happen......
I need a lot of leaning out.....I have also noticed that after my show I gained my weight back differently....and from reading some other blogs, I hear that it is a common thing! Very weird...but at least I know im not crazy...LOL!
Last time my waist was really narrow and small....now it seems as though it wants to hang around! I don’t like it!
Oh, and I just need to say this.....I already talked to April about this but I was on Hardbody.com and they did a post of Jen Gates’s photoshoot for Ironman Magazine.....she must have had her boobs done again...they are gigantic! And I think are WAY to big for her body! She is only 5 fee tall (like me) and she already had boobs that were big! I think they are way to overpowering of her tiny body! Check it out and let me know what you think!
Well anyway.....I think that is all I got.....

Agreed. Her boobs are too big, espe. in some of those poses...They wouldn't be so bad if she didn't push them out like that. I'm not a hater or anything, actually i'd like a tasteful pair of boobs myself some day (i have a boob job savings fund jar at the bottom of my closet, lol) but yeah, hers are too big. I don't necessarily think her upper body is in that great of shape, either. I like her legs, but overall she didn't look as lean or tones upper body wise as I would like to be for a photo shoot, ya know?
There's too big, and acceptable. Sounds like they're too big in this persons case.
That's life, plus the risk, so if that person is willing to do that to themselves, then I can't sound preachy about it.
I'm glad things are good for you.
Take care and best wishes.
:-) :-).
Matt
Agreed on the boobs. :)
I know EXACTLY what you mean about gaining weight back differently! I definitely did. After my first show though I got SUPER FAAAAAAT. Woops. I'm way more lean this time than I was at this time after my first show. I just want more muscle. I don't want to do figure anymore. Figure is awesome too but I'm too big. I lean out EASIER when I have loads of mass...When I try to lean out with hardly any muscle under there, its nearly impossible. My first show I was skinny and quite lean but I still looked big on stage. So screw it. hahah. The more muscle I have the better shaped mybody looks...even if I'm a middleweight I dont care LOL!!! :D
Just hang in there girlie! BTW 3 hrs of cardio is insane. lol
I think the type of cardio is important. Try zumba class or something...its really leaning me up!!! I do it three/four times per week. I've been eating junky too and its still workin!
Totally on the weight thing! Never had stomach issues but now...gah so unnerving! and also agree totally with you on her boobs...way too big. That's the first thing I thought when I was watching that video earlier before I even read your post.
Just keep focussing on the process Angela and the results will come. Like I said to someone yesterday, "If you are too busy worrying and getting upset over the feedback (from pics, the scales or fat calipers) then you won't learn anything from it, because it takes your focus off the tasks at hand and what you need to do in order to correct your course. Analyse the information, adjust your course and move past it. If you do this you will get to where you want to go" xxx
That's interesting about all the cardio that they do. It seems like a several people say you don't want to do a ton, but it also seems like all the top level pros do 2-3 hours a day. Hmmm.....
Also, I bet you are just being hard on yourself. When I met you at the Arnold you were tiny! I can't imagine that you have much fat to lose!
I didn't even look boobs are overrated...LOL...I ain't got any it's a good stance to take :)
Anyways I liked this post...good thoughts!!! I was complaining to Tony about the whole have to do cardio now never had to before...have to be so careful with my diet never had to before...have cellulite now...never had it before...but I think that's part of the game...our bodies adapt, just like our minds and that is opportunity to keep it interesting and push them some more...we are not the people we were when we started...we can't go back...only forward...everyday we have opportunity to be better, faster, stronger than the day before...I see it happening with you...it's been so fun to watch...keep going girl :)
